In May the huge regional tourism event, the International Iberian Mask Festival, returns to Lisboa. From Thursday to Sunday visit on your European tours, the Rossio and Baixa become the big stage for Iberian culture with the Regions' Exhibit, concerts, entertainment and the 8th Iberian Mask Parade. Praça do Rossio will act as the festival's hub and here visitors can visit the Regions' Exhibition, with the participation of numerous producers and artisans, where you can not only learn all about regional gastronomy but also regional crafts. There will be live culinary shows, debates and workshops, among other activities. Rossio will also host the Iberian Stage where every night several musical projects from Spain and Portugal will be on show: Cuchufellos, Skanda and Iraxto of Spain, and "Uxukalhus", "Orquestra de Gaitas" and "Diabo a Sete" from Portugal. The highlight of the festival remains the Iberian Mask Parade on May 11th at 4.30pm. This year, the parade will start at Terreiro do Paço, head up Rua do Ouro and end at Rossio. Original and unique in its kind, the Festival is the ideal place to discover the common culture that exists between Portugal and Spain, or rather, Iberian culture in its most varied forms.
