The Rockhal is proud to present the 6th anniversary edition of SONIC VISIONS. What's it all about? - It's a conference dedicated to all of you that share the experience of being involved in the music industry no matter at what level. BUT it's mainly about discovering new exciting bands. During independent european tour to Luxembourg or european tour packages created by Trip planner, enjoy your tour to Louxembourg and visit to Sonic Visions Festival. So get ready for two days of fresh new music. Brought to you by Den Atelier, HURTS will play the Rockhal on Friday 22 November. More acts will be confirmed very soon! Hurts are back on the airwaves worldwide with their epic new album, Exile, and its first hit single, Miracle.
The ultimately suave synth duo from Manchester, Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson, take things in a darker and - subtly nuanced - heavier direction. With lyrics about sadism, sickness, possessiveness and envy, Exile employs greater variety than Happiness, their debut featuring the hit singles Wonderful World and Stay. Exile goes from acoustic grand piano to what sounds like electric guitar, but without sacrificing any of the grandeur. Exile is often reminiscent of Soft Cell or late 1980s Depeche Mode and it's on close personal terms with absolute pop magnificence. LESLIE CLIO - 21h00From the moment Leslie Clio starts singing on her debut single, "Told You So," it's clear that she's captured the essence of great soul music and updated it for a new era. It's Leslie's self-written lyrics and take-charge singing performance that announce the arrival of a bold and refreshing new musical artist. Leslie Clio oozes the type of soul and authenticity that her forbears like Dusty Springfield or Lauryn Hill had. Some may see a young blonde woman and decide to call Leslie's music blue-eyed soul, but it's not cold, manufactured or distant. Leslie Clio is as direct as a 3 a.m. come-hither stare or a slap in the face. It's bloodshot-eyed soul. This authenticity gives her an air of confidence that's rare in these days of anonymous pop packaging. NONONO - 00h00Specializing in propulsive, crystalline electro-dance-pop in the vein of Icona Pop, Little Boots, Robyn, and Ellie Goulding, Swedish trio NoNoNo features the talents of singer/songwriter Stina Wäppling and award-winning production duo Astma & Rocwell. Based out of Stockholm and formed in 2012 after being introduced to each other through a mutual friend, the group issued a pair of singles, "Like the Wind," and "Pumpin' Blood," the following year, with plans to record their debut long-player soon thereafter. The band scored a massive international TV commercial campaign for Samsung's Galaxy IV which is featuring their song "Pumpin Blood". OWLLE - 22h45Owlle, with her flaming red hair atop turquoise eyes, enchants the eyes and ears of those who stumble upon the young French woman, coincidentally named France. Les Inrocks, draw comparisons to Kate Bush and Zola Jesus. The three tracks of her recently released first EP stoke those embers with fertile, ripened contrasts in anticipation of her upcoming debut album. "Ticky Ticky" is that electro-pop spark that embodies her sound and which is enchanting dance floors. The fire-haired Owlle's captivating pop has already caught on in her own country, and now France has the fuel to burst beyond borders. AUFGANG - 22h45Imagine two grand pianos and one drum-kit, brought together on the same stage, improvising relentless funky rhythms, revolted notes and distorting ruthlessly the Classic, Jazz, Electronic genres. Do you get the picture? Not really? Well, that is the point! Highlight of the Sonar festival in 2005, the mutant trio is composed of Francesco Tristano (from Luxembourg), Rami Khalifé (from Lebanon) and Aymeric Westrich (from France). The experimental electronic-acoustic trio has already made prove of their amazing talent for improvisation and reinvention at the Rockhal back in May presenting us their latest album "Istiklaliya". Now the yougsters are back! One thing is for sure as you will hear them, this stairway will take you high up... CHARITY CHILDREN - 21h30The tale of Charity Children is not a typical band story - it is a chronicle as genuine, pure and as profoundly heartfelt as the music they produce - one which sees the New Zealand lovers rising in a foreign city where they knew no one, to becoming one of the most celebrated indie-folk bands playing in Berlin today. Soon after Chloë Lewer and Elliott McKee fell in love making music, they embarked upon a musical odyssey to Germany where their street grown indie-folk very quickly became a Berlin institution - their music enchanting large audiences with their endearing style, raw energy and miraculous vocals. After 2 years in the German capital and fresh from winning 'Best Song' at the Berlin Music Video Awards for their debut single "Elizabeth", the band release their debut album - "The Autumn Came".FYFE - 00h00"Conversations" is the latest thrilling turn in the musical evolution of Paul Dixon. Still just 23-years-old, the former David's Lyre songwriter conceived Fyfe as an expression of freedom: without a manager, a label or plugger, Dixon quietly sent "Solace" out to blogs himself, offering only a photo of the back of his head by way of a biog. Sonically, Fyfe again takes several steps forward: "Conversations" suggests a greater exploration in the beats that have obsessed Dixon since his childhood (specifically circa The Neptunes, Timbaland) as well as the delicate pop melodies of Bjork or The XX. Older, wiser, but still the prodigal young talent, Fyfe is a journey in self-discovery from an artist who has picked himself up and come back stronger. BENJAMIN CLEMENTINE - 20h00 Two years ago the young english artist decided to leave London to Paris and find a creative surrounding for his music. Benjamin Clementine is a 24 years old singer and composer with magical voice and the touch of blues and soul in his mouth. His first ep "Cornerstone" reminds us of Nina Simone, Terry Callier or Jay Hawkins. Check it out and see him live on Sonic Visions Friday! PEGASUS - 20h30 Pegasus are the pinnacle of new Swiss pop. This has overcome its reservations, becoming daring and innovative and creating a new sound that's all its own. "Human.Techology", the newcomers' current album, is very much of our time - a time that's characterised by hedonism and isolation. The album is located in that explosive, highly topical zone between technology and humanity. The songs dance lightly and confidently across this field of conflict, and their infectious mixture of harmony with just the right degree of defiant dissonance gives rise to emotions that all those who find themselves confronted with similar contradictions can relate to. This is pop music for the present day, drawn from the depths of the soul and backed with a single-minded drive. PORN QUEEN - 20h30Porn Queen is a Hard Rock band active since 2007, created by two 2 luxembourgish residents Lucas Ferraz (vocals and guitar) and Fred Barreto (guitar) from Brazil. Their music is influenced by 1980's hard rock (Guns'n'Roses, Aerosmith, ....) with a touch of Blues and Rock n' Roll. In 2010 and 2012, the group had the great opportunity to be the opening act for legendary guitarist Slash (former guitarist of Guns'n'Roses) at Rockhal. Their first studio album will be released end 2013. DIRTY CROWS - 20h00The rock'n'roll sensation Dirty Crows from Luxembourg is a four men desert-rock band formed in late 2010. Inspired by bands such as Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age and Nirvana, they vowed to give their passion to rock'n'roll. The somber, dark and unique wall of sound, coupled with a badass storm piper bass machine, driving, down tuned drums and the croaky voice of the frontman is typical for the band's sound. COLT SILVERS - 21h00Eternal unshaven kidults playing hide and seek at the frontier between the organic and the synthesis, the three boys in Colt Silvers create their own intense sound, made of bright pop intervals and silky electronic layers, spangled here and there with angelic voices. After an incandescent debut album that led them to tour in France, Germany and USA, they developed their cinematographic side trough a reinterpretation of the Blade Runner soundtrack and an acoustic concept-EP. With a wealth of such explorations they are back in spring 2013 with "Red Panda", a new, dense and wooded album, carried by various collaborations and a most refreshing eighties temperament.
