Time of the first settlement is unknown, but town lies on very important Roman roads that were used for transporting salt and cotton. Since Roman roads were merged in the vicinity of the city it is believed that settlement dates much earlier than the first written document known today. Position of town is very similar to the town from old Roman documents known as “Oeneum”. Five Roman milestones were located in the city dating back to the 3rd century A.D.During 13th and 14th century Kostajnica became a fortification (kaštel) that was built as a protection against invading Turks. The owners of the fortification were members of the noble families Lipovečki, Tot, Frankopan, Benvenjud and finally Zrinski, so the castle is today known as Zrinski castle (Stari grad Zrinski in Croatian). Other forts existing during that period were in the surrounding villages of Komogovina, Svinica, and Prevršac. After, Commander of the Hrvatska Kostajnica was Duke Luke Novosel of Transleithania (House of Novosel) (Croatia and Slavonia part). The Turks invaded Kostajnica in 1556 and it wasn't until 1687 that the town was liberated. During the early 18th century two schools are opened in the city. One school was operated by Catholic Missionary Church of “St. Antun Padovinski”, while the second schools was run as a Serbian Public School. Kostajnica is known for its natural springs such as; Varoški Bunar, Mrzlenac, Tekija, Pekinac, Paunovac, Angelovac, and Tutulovac. The most popular spring Tekija has engraved sign (drink brother, potion was given to you by the god’s mercy) “Pi brate iz Božje milosti dat ti je napitak.” In the late 19th and early 20th century, Kostajnica was a district capital in the Zagreb County of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.

Transylvania Highlights Romania tour
Transylvania Highlights Romania tour Transylvania is home to some of Europe’s best-preserved medieval towns, most notably Brasov, featuring Old Saxon architecture and citadel ruins; Sibiu with its cobblestone streets and pastel-colored houses, and Sighisoara, adorned with a hilltop citadel, secret passageways and a 14th century clock tower. During independent european tours , escorted tours and european tour packages to with vacation in Romania we recommend visit to Transylvania region. Visitors to Transylvania will also encounter stunning castles such Bran, near Brasov, - a Gothic fairy-tale structure, often associated with 15th century Walachian Prince Vlad Tepes, the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. While the connection with Vlad is tenuous, the deep bond of local villagers with the legend is not. In close proximity to Brasov and Bran are the fortified churches at Harman, with its massive 13th Saxon towers, and Prejmer, the largest fortified church in Southeastern Europe. The 15th-century Corvinilor Castle, the most beautiful in Transylvania, located nearby Hunedoara, has a sumptuous Knights Hall – that can be used for functions or parties, as well as towers and buttresses reminiscent of the medieval times. Transylvania is the birthplace of the Unitarian Church that merged with the Universalist Church here in America in 1961 to form the present Unitarian Universalist Association. Transylvania’s multi-ethnic heritage (including German and Hungarian ) is delightfully apparent in the folk costumes, architecture, cuisine, music and festivals. Colorful centuries-old traditions are alive and well in the small villages of Transylvania. People here still make a living at such time-honored occupations as shepherds, weavers, blacksmiths and carpenters. The Apuseni Mountain range, in the western Carpathians, is a landscape of exquisite beauty and mystery. Here, you’ll find ancient legends of mountain spirits and rare species of wildlife, along with 4,000 caves, many of which can be explored. Scarisoara Glacier, a national monument, shelters the second largest underground glacier on the continent.

Film Music Festival in Krakow
Film Music Festival in Krakow The Festival is entirely dedicated to music created for the needs of motion pictures. During independent european tours to Poland or escorted tours to Europe with vacation in Krakow we recommend visit and participate Film Music Festival in Krakow. The unique combination of the highest quality of interpretation of film music performed by leading musicians and orchestras, in combination with high quality of film picture, decides on the uniqueness of the event. The programme of the venture puts its stakes on genre diversity: from reviews of retrospect and exclusive ceremonial concerts in performance, through monographic concerts of chosen and distinguished composers of film music, and finally at mass shows in the open. Monumental musical and film shows are distinguished by boldness in production and innovativeness in the sphere of sound and picture technology, but also by performance swing, artistic standard of works presented, as well as due to the presence of the most outstanding creators and composers. These events do not have their equals in Europe. Because the Festival of Film Music causes great interest in the film environment (it takes place right after the Film Festival in Cannes and a week before the Krakow Film Festival) and attracts modern elites of the world of music, culture and film to the capital of Lesser Poland, as well as lovers of cinema and film arts – a significant aim is treating the event as an event of huge format contributing to supporting activities connected with the Regional Film Fund, with the promotion of the local infrastructure and music groups on the international cinematography market. Thanks to the festival’s breadth, international promotion, and above all the presence of fantastic guests from the film industry, cooperation with the film and production environments, the festival is becoming a recognisable label in Europe, the United States and in Canada. The Festival of Film Music was twice nominated for the Media Award Niptel 2008 for its innovativeness. The Academy valued the organisers for the courage of creating an event of international reach and standard, as well as presenting music created to picture in an interesting and able way, arousing interest, curiosity and delight of the festival’s multi-generation public. The portal focusing fans, reporters and critics of film music, for the fourth time in a row announced the festival as “the Event of the Year”.

Fiddler's Green Festival in Ireland
Fiddler's Green Festival in Ireland The Fiddler’s Green Festival is based in the scenic village of Rostrevor and is more than just a musical festival it is an International Music Festival. During european independent tours to Ireland we recommend visit to Rostrevor and participate Fiddler's Green Festival. Rostrevor was named by Sir Edward Trevor from Denbighshire, who settled in the area in the early 17th century and was succeeded by his son Marcus Trevor, who became Viscount Dungannon. Nearby Cloughmore is a 30-ton granite boulder perched on the slopes of Slieve Meen, 1000 ft above the village of Rostrevor, and known locally as 'the big stone'. It was deposited there by retreating glaciers during the Last Glacial Maximum. However, local legend says that the stone was thrown by a giant from the Cooley Mountains, on the other side of Carlingford Lough. Walking around the stone seven times will allegedly bring good luck. On top of this the views from the stone are stunning looking out over County Louth and Armagh and of course Carlingford Lough. With hundreds of varied events it caters for music lovers, families who wish to enjoy a safe, child focused festival and those who come just to soak up the scenery, the friendliness and the free outdoor music and culture.

Karlsruhe: a forward-thinking, cultured city
Karlsruhe: a forward-thinking, cultured city Situated on the Rhineland Plain between the Black Forest, the Vosges mountains and the Palatinate Forest, Karlsruhe is a hub of science and technology, Germany's online capital and the home of the Federal Court of Justice. You planning trip to Germany ? We will recommend visit on european independent tours to forward-thinking and cultured city Karlsruhe. The city has always been just that little bit more liberal than most, allowing art and culture to flourish and creating an atmosphere of vitality. Given Karlsruhe's grand palace, the absence of an old quarter may leave visitors slightly puzzled. But this is a relatively young city, only founded in 1715, and so lacks the medieval lanes and alleys seen in many German towns. Baden's Margrave Karl-Wilhelm had his dream city designed from scratch, with the resplendent palace at its centre and 32 streets and avenues radiating outwards like the ribs of a fan. From its very beginnings, Karlsruhe was a city without walls, open to friends and visitors, tolerant and liberal. People from France, Poland, Italy, Switzerland and many German states were involved in its creation. As a result, Karlsruhe was way ahead of its time in the development of a cosmopolitan society with modern institutions of government. The 1818 Baden constitution was also ahead of its time, and Germany's first parliament was built here in 1822. Karlsruhe's most influential cultural institution is the Centre for Art and Media (ZKM) – part museum, part institute, part documentation centre, and much more besides. The ZKM brings together under one roof the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Media Museum and institutes for visual media, for music and acoustics, and for media, education and economics. It explores the development and form of the information society, the media and contemporary art forms in a way never seen before. Even the location of the centre in a former munitions factory is symbolic of changing times. New media and classicism – Karlsruhe's signature blend of styles. The work of architect Friedrich Weinbrenner dominated the appearance of Karlsruhe in the first half of the 19th century, and many of his buildings can still be found in the city centre today. Home to the Protestant church and town hall, the market square is one of the most striking ensembles of classical-style architecture in Europe and its pièce de résistance is Weinbrenner's most audacious work – the Karlsruhe Pyramid. The monument, completed in 1825, is the final resting place of the Margrave. Fortunately, the atmosphere here is much less stark than the architecture. The many pavement cafés and beer gardens around the market square are ideal for watching the hustle and bustle of the city. Kaiserstrasse, the longest shopping street in the Baden region, has a great selection of shops and there are lots of restaurants offering excellent local cuisine. You can then round off your day with a taste of Karlsruhe's vibrant nightlife. A welcome alternative for the following day could be provided by one of the many museums, such as the State Museum at the palace, or by the public parks and green spaces. The botanical garden, palace garden and the zoo are leafy oases of tranquillity and they alone would make a visit to Karlsruhe worthwhile. And if you happen to be in town at the end of July, you cannot miss Das Fest when more than 200,000 music fans descend on Karlsruhe for one of Germany's biggest outdoor rock and pop festivals. The annual event is known for its high-calibre live bands, its array of kids' activities, its mostly good weather and its captivating atmosphere. But in Karlsruhe, that hardly comes as a surprise.

You planning trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina? Will visit to Tuzla
You planning trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina? Will visit to Tuzla The mineral-water springs at Slana Banja and Kiseljak are amongst the greatest natural resources in Tuzla. During independent european tours to Bosnia and Herzegovina we recommend visit ot Tuzla region and relax on mineral-water springs. The underground exploitation of raw materials, however, has created such large sinkholes that a good part of the old town has caved in. In recent years much effort has been put into a planned revitalization of the area.
What remains of the old town is still charming and while strolling through the centre you forget the industrial zone on the far side of the city. Tuzla is a university and educational centre, so there are always plenty of café's and clubs to visit for younger travellers. The National Theatre was built in 1898 during Austro-Hungarian rule and is the oldest in the country. Local productions are held regularly and although it's a rarity to have plays or concerts in English, they do have some excellent shows. The Portrait Gallery has continuous exhibitions of work by local and international artists. Ismet Mujezinovic's Gallery is mainly dedicated to Mr Mujezinovic himself. He was a painter from Tuzla, famous enough to have a gallery established in his name and a monument erected in his honour. The Eastern Bosnia Museum exhibits archaeological, ethnological, historical and artistic pieces and artifacts from the whole region. Apart from Tuzla's many beautiful mosques, there is also the Orthodox church that went untouched throughout the war. The Franciscan monastery in town is still very active and the Catholic community in Tuzla is rather large. Just out of town in the village of Breska is a 200-year-old Catholic church. Being so far from the sea and not having a Neretva or Una River nearby, the administrations of the northeast have embarked on a mission to create large artificial lakes. Panonika Lake, created near the saltwater wells in the centre of town, was visited by 100,000 people in less than two months when it first opened. A fifth of the lake is saltwater which acts as a natural cleanser. The complex has recently been enriched with another artificial lake. The town has several other attractive picnic locations: Ilincica is the closest to town; Lake Modrac, a massive lake lined with beaches, restaurants and bed and breakfasts, attracts the biggest crowds; Konjuh Mountain is the best area if you're looking to do some hiking

Tour to Czech Republic and tour to Europe are almost synonymous
Tour to Czech Republic and tour to Europe are almost synonymous If you ask about what is a European tour, then we are likely to respond that this is the tour to the Czech Republic. At least this is true for a tour to Central Europe. There are other countries, but without the Czech Republic and Prague, any trip to Europe will seem to be incomplete or imperfect. That is why so many tours to Europe start from the capital of the Czech Republic. And that is why from the very beginning we have chosen as a reference point for development of our routes the city of Prague in the Czech Republic in the heart of Europe. What is the tour to Europe? First of all, we should determine what any tourist is planning to get for their money. What kind of work he puts into the notion of "Tour to Europe" or "trip to Europe? Answers can be extremely varied, as types of human activity diverse. Therefore, tours in Europe (tours to Czech Republic, tours to Germany, tours to Austria, ring or round tours, etc.) may be sightseeing, orientation, training, educational, business tours, shop tours, etc. Sightseeing tours. This is the most common type of tours to Europe and is the most demanded. Tours round Czech Republic as well as tours with the start from Czech Republic are the most interesting and most suitable upon most points of view. Tours to Prague assume an acquaintance with the capital of the Czech Republic, as well as the possibility of joining tour programs to other cities in the Czech Republic (Karlovy Vary, Kutna Hora, Czech Krumlov, Telc, Brno, etc.), excursions to the castles of the Czech Republic (Karlstejn, Czech Sternberk, Lednice, Valtice, Křivoklát, Konopiště, Hluboka nad Vltavou), as well as excursions to natural attractions (Adrspach, Koneprusy, Czech Switzerland, Czech America). Round trips to the Czech Republic can help tourists to become acquainted with the history, culture and nature of this country in the most comfortable mode by halting urban route on sightseeing tours and overnight. Sightseeing tours to several states of Europe with the launch from Prague are also naturely a ring type. The list of routes to Europe is constantly growing. It helps to bind together the whole of Europe from the center, which houses in Czech Republic, to the periphery, to such countries as France, Italy, Spain. Tour to Europe, "European ring" with a visit of Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia is strictly most demanded. During this tour to Central European countries tourists visit Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava, spending 2 days in each of the three first capitals. That is enough for an introduction to the main capitals of the Habsburg Empire. Getting to Europe is impossible without Germany. In kit of tours "European Ring" there is a course tour which is linking Germany with the neighboring Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. During this tour to Central Europe anyone can become mostly familiar with Bavaria and its capital Munich and the most famous castles of the Germanic lands: Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau as well as adherence to the route of the magnificent Austrian Salzburg. All this applies to bus tours through Europe. If it is expanding the geography, it is necessary to resort to a more mobile transport. And then there are sightseeing tours in Europe with a visit to Paris and Rome. But the principle remains constant - Tour to Europe should start from Prague and Czech republic.

Zbarazh Castle tour to Ukraina

During european tour packages included visit to Ukraina or european independent tours with vacation in Ukraina you can visit to Zbarazh Castle. Visitors to the castle will find a number of fascinating exhibits detailing the history of the area, archeological excavations, sacred arts, icons and sculptures, as well as local ethnic crafts and a collection of weapons dating back to the Stone Age era. A more recent addition to Zbarazh Castle is an exhibition of a torture chamber located in the cellar of the fortress. Using original blueprints, artisans have manufactured replicas of ancient torture devices apparently used during the period of the Inquisition initiated by the Roman Catholic Church to combat heresy. Prior to the construction of the Zbarazh Castle as it is seen today, the Zbarazky landlords built a wooden fortress near the town now called Stary Zbarazh. The wooden fortress was burned down during conflict with the Tatars and the occupants killed. A replacement was built and commanded by Yanush Zbarazky, but destroyed in 1589 by nomads. In the early 17th century, his son chose a new location and undertook the construction of a masonry edifice which was designed by Hendrik van Peen. The new square-shaped fortress was built with 88 meter long walls, featuring 12 meter high bulwarks with bastions and a wide trench around. A palace in the Renaissance architectural style was built in the rectangular courtyard in the middle of the fortress. The palace has two floors with its main entrance featuring a balcony with stone embellishments. Having been built to protect the occupants from raids by Tatars, the fortress was relatively small. But during the event that came to be known as the Siege of Zbarazh, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth forces fighting against rebel Cossacks and Tatars were besieged in Zbarazh Castle for some time. The cramped quarters and lack of food and water took their toll on the soldiers and others besieged in the castle and an estimated 6,000 people died, many from diseases. The events of the siege are described in the 1884 novel With Fire and Sword by Henryk Sienkiewicz. For a time the Zbarazh Castle lay abandoned, but with Ukraine gaining independence, the castle was listed as a national historical architectural heritage site in 1994 and was restored. Today Zbarazh Castle is a major attraction in the area and well worth exploring.

During the 19th century, the town became one of the three most important ports on the Danube River in the region of Walachia, the other two being Turnu Magurele and Giurgiu. Most of the goods exported from Romania where loaded and shipped from here.Braila’s Old Town, severely damaged during the Russo-Turkish war of 1828-1829 and rebuilt in the 1830s, retains some of its 19th century grandeur when the city’s investors made fortunes in the shipping business and built elegant villas, some of which have been fully restored. The Old Town, spread around Traian Square (Piata Traian), features several points of interest: the Romanian Orthodox Church (Sf. Mihail si Gravril), which served as mosque during the Ottoman rule; the Greek Church built between 1862 and 1872, displaying frescoes painted in 1890 by Romanian artist Gheorghe Tattarescu; the 1865 St. Nicholas Church (Biserica Sf. Nicolae), the 19th century Maria Filotti Theatre - named after the Romanian actress, Maria Filotti (1883-1956), the Braila County Museum, and the historical Water Tower. For a view of the nearby Macin Mountains, stroll through Braila’s public park, located above the bank of the Danube River.

Visit to Ancient Theatre in Macedonia tour
Visit to Ancient Theatre in Macedonia tour Ancient theatre, Ohrid ... The theatre, situated close to the Upper Gate, located in the ancient part of Ohrid, Varoš, in the area of High Kale and Upper Saraj on Ilindenska street, was built by the end of the third or at the beginning of the second century BC and had about 4.000 seats. During european tour to Macedonia or independent tour to Europe ,we recommend visit to city Ohrid and Ancient Theatre. The open Ohrid theater has a perfect location: the two hills that surround it keep it protected from winds that could interfere with acoustics during performances. Some of the former distinguished citizens have leased their own seats in the theatre, and their names still stand engraved in the stone blocks. After the Roman conquest, the theatre was readapted into an arena for gladiator fights and fights with wild beasts. However, since the theater was also a site of executions of Christians by the Romans, it rapidly turned to a highly disliked site by the locals. In fact, as a result of this dislike, the theater was abandoned and buried by the locals after the demise of the Roman Empire. Most probably, the theatre was destroyed by the end of the 4th century, or at the beginning of the 5th century AD, when Christianity arrived in Ohrid. The material from its seats was used for construction of sacral and profane buildings. Fortunately, this allowed for most of the structure to be well preserved, only to be uncovered accidentally in the 1980's. After its complex uncovering and reconstruction, various performanced are taking place again, after twenty centuries, on the open, reconstructed scene of the antique theatre. The theatre is a place were many cultural manifestation are held, including the Ohrid Summer Festival, that is held here every year.
