Folklore show of the Daanube Folk Ensemble One of the most popular visualized Hungarian folklore dancing bands is the BM Danube Artistic Band which was founded in 1957. Members of the band are excellent professional dancers and musical instrument’s artists. To the band belongs a 30 member dancing ensemble and a 7 member folklore band. The band impersonates professional folklore dancing and continuous dancing theatre assimilation as well as aiming for modern performances and constituent appearance. Next to the artistic director Juhász Zsolt’s guidance, other choreographers are also present, such as Novák Ferenc, Kricskovics Antal, Zsuráfszki Zoltán, Farkas Zoltán. The ensemble performance contains the most beautiful gem of Hungarian folklore dancing culture, while the band is a devoted to the Hungarian folklore music. The repertoire of the band features several autonomous, filling the whole evening performances. The ensemble’s number of yearly performances is over one hundred, which includes the weekly performances at the Danube Hall, as well as the folklore and dancing theatre performances in Budapest and all over the country. Except for autonomous repertoire, the ensemble participates in the formation of different theatre productions, for example: János Vitéz musical tale, Stephen the King, Atilla rock opera and Dózsa György opera. The Danube Artistic Band takes part continuously in the Ministry of Home Affairs programs, national holidays like for example on August 20th and March 15th. These performances can be seen on the spot (in the Buda Castle, Parliament) or in the television.
